In conjunction with Royal Air Force Wales, we commemorated the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic by hosting a formal ceremony within the Heritage Centre grounds.

This six-year long struggle to keep the British Isles supplied with food and armaments by sea was fought using anti-submarine aircraft, almost exclusively based in Pembrokeshire. The day was marked by veterans of the conflict, serving RAF personnel and a host of local dignitaries.

A flypast by a Boeing P-8 Poseidon (the RAF’s latest anti-submarine aircraft) from 201 Sqn, a unit with strong connections with Pembroke Dock, brought both past and present together.
