From a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars’ Stormtroopers have beamed in to add their firepower to promote this summer’s big dance event!
The poster that caught their attention is for the 1940s Big Band Night, which will feature The Phil Dando Big Band recreating the memorable Glenn Miller sound, and Forties tribute singer Peri Lynn – who as Peri Thomas was brought up locally. The dance will take place on Saturday, June 21st, at the Pembroke Port Pavilion, Royal Dockyard, with doors open at 6pm.
Tickets for the 1940s Big Band Night are already dancing out the doors. Get yours while you still can, at £25 each, from the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre (Tel 01646 684220); Pembroke Dock Town Council offices in Dimond Street (Tel 01646 684110) or online (small booking fee applies to online purchases). The event is generously sponsored by the Port of Milford Haven and hopes to raise funds for the Pembroke Dock Heritage Trust Memorial Window fund.
The Stormtroopers were among many costumers who came along to the Heritage Centre’s third Falcon Fun Day on May Bank Holiday Monday. Falcon Fun Day is an annual event which celebrates the building of the Millennium Falcon in the town, and which once more brought ‘Star Wars’ fans flocking to Pembroke Dock.
